OK, so maybe I cheated just a little and didn’t ACTUALLY see a dragon but I did get to visit the beautiful fortress of Klis, the location that became Meereen. If you’ve never watched Game of Thrones this will mean nothing to you but then, if you’ve never watched Game of Thrones… well, you probably should. It really is that good.

Every year I try to attend the European leg of the Fearless Photographers conference. Mainly because it is two days of utter inspiration from an amazing community of the best wedding photographers in the world.  Partly because I get to spend time with some totally bonkers, wonderfully talented and big hearted fellow photographers. But also because I get to spend some time in a beautfiul city somewhere in Europe.

This year the venue was Split in Croatia and wow, it really is an amazing place. So much so that I even went out at 5.40 am to photograph the city as the sun came up. Don’t believe me? That’s why I took this photo!

Clearly, I was truly inspired by the city- I am NOT naturally a morning person.

The day after the conference and, more importantly, the day after the after party; a couple of very dedicated tour guides attempted to educate a group of rather delicate photographers about the area’s rich history. They really earned theri money that day… However, it was such a treat to see the amazing Roman archaeology whilst soaking in the stunning landscape of the Dalmation mountians.

Plus we got to visit the gorgeous town of Trogir just as the sun was setting (I have already planned a return visit!) and got to play Khaleesi at the fortress of Klis.
