Kelly and I went to university together about… let’s just say some years ago, so when he told me he was getting married and wanted me to photograph the day, I could not have been more excited! And once I met his bride, Sabine, I knew it was going to be an amazing wedding!
It is so lovely to see an old friend so happy on their wedding day, and such a priviledge to be asked to capture it all. And to top it all off, Kelly and Sabine are an awesome, talented, funny and all roiund beautiful couple.
My lasting memory of Kelly at university was him being dragged to some ghastly mega club on the outskirts of Reading where he sat in the corner reading… I think it was Poe. So when he told he had foudn the girl of his dreams, I couldn’t wait to meet her! I don’t know how he managed it but he found the perfect girl who seemed to share his talent for film making, sense of humour and love of horror and what’s more, she’s gorgeous!
They chose the uniuely beautiful Nonsuch Mansion for their wedding day and I really can’t think of anywhere more suited to them. Elegant but with bags of personal style. When I arrived in the morning to see Sabine getting ready, Kelly getting a little nervous and Kelly’s amazingly talented Mum creating floral wizardry I knew the day was going to be special.
Sabine was so full of happiness and the atmosphere was full of joy and love. And just look at what a beautiful bride she made.
It was great to meet Sabine’s lovely bridesmaids, who looked beautiful in their bridesmaids dresses, and Kelly’s oldest and best friend Nick, and to see them both look so handsome!
The ceremony was quite the tear jerker as it was clear how happy these two make each other.
The rest of the day was laid back and fun and it was so nice to meet so many of Kelly and Sabine’s wonderful friends and family. Not to mention getting to spend some time with two of my favourite Reading alumni, Julien (outrageously talented as ever) and my crazy digital nomad friend, Mike.
But the stars of this show were definitely the bride and groom who are so clearly crazy about each other. I mean, just LOOK AT THEM!
I hated to leave but had such a great day seeing these two so happy. Shine on you crazy diamonds!
